Mediterranean Monk Seal; (Monachus Monachus) is a marine mammal which belongs to the seal family. Once common along the Mediterranean and Black Sea coasts and on the Atlantic shores of northwest Africa, the Canary Islands and Maderia, this animal now probably numbers fewer than 1000.

Although legally protected, it has been persequted for many centuries by fishermen for its damage to nets and the fish it eats. Reserves free from human disturbance and strict law enforcement are vital to this mammal's survival.

Anatolian Leopard; These animals once prowled the forest and hill regions of Aegean, West Mediterranean, East Mediterranean, and East Anatolia. Adults grow 200-250 centimeters long and may weigh up to 90 kg; their lifespan is approximately 20 years. In Israel, there were Anatolian leopards until the 1980s. In 2001, the animal was spotted in the locality called "Dandi" near the town of Mut in the Taurus Mountains in Turkey's Mediterranean Region, and around Muskili Brook on the eastern Black Sea. In 2003 remote sensing cameras captured an adult male Anatolian Leopard in the Vashlovani National Park in Georgia [1]. Another sighting was reported in 2004 in Pokut Plateau.

Taurus Frog; All over the world Turkey is the only place where Taurus Frog (Rana Holtzi) lives. Since it is stated that Rana Holtzi is unique to Karagöl, in The Taurus Mountains, the governorship of Niğde has taken some conservation measures by forbidding to have picnic, to graze and to take water from the lake.

The Great Bustard; The Europen population of the Great Bustard (Otis Tarda) is estimated to be between 23.000 and 30.000 individuals, but there has been a rapid decline in much of central and eastern Europe. The Great Bustard occurs in highly fragmented populations and the greatest parts of the world's breeding population is now found in Iberian Peninsula, Russia, Turkey and the Hungarian basin.
