KÜÇÜKSU

The summer palace known as Göksu is by the seaside near the place where Göksu Creek -a well known promenade place of Istanbul- discharges into the Bosphorus. All faces of the palace -constructed by Nikogos Balyan as per the instructions of Sultan Abdulmajid and completed in 1857- were completely covered with leaves, flower chains and grapevine wreathes in high relief. The summer palace was used as an official guest house during Republican times and then opened to visitors as a museum palace.

AYNALI KAVAK

The summer palace located in Istanbul Hasköy Quarter was constructed by Chief Admiral Halil Pascha at the times of Sultan Ahmet I, in 1613. Since it was decorated with mirrors presented as gift by the Republic of Venice it has been called as "Mirrored Kavak Palace". The palace opened to visitors in 1985 has gained function of a museum palace.

IHLAMUR

The palace constructed by Nikogos Balyan in Istanbul Beşiktaş Quarter in the Ihlamur Valley, one of the mostly visited promenade places of the 18th century, was completed in 1853. Surfaces of all facing walls excluding doors and windows were covered with oyster shells, leaves and flowers in high relief. The palace, left empty for a period at Republican times was rearranged as Tanzimat (Turkish Reform) Museum in 1952 and it was repaired and opened to visitors in 1985.
