AYASOFYA (HAGIA SOPHIA)

Hagia Sophia, as one of the most important structures of the world architectural history located in Istanbul, Hagia Sophia Quarter is a church constructed during Byzantine Era. This church, started to be constructed during the times of the Emperor Constantinus, was completed in the time of his son and the materials necessary for construction of the structure were brought from ,»il regions of the empire. Hagia Sophia was the most protected structure in the Ottoman Era following the conquest of Istanbul and has gained religious respect as the most appreciated structure after Kaaba.

SUMELA (VIRGIN  MARY) MONASTERY

Sumela Monastery known as the Virgin  Mary  Monastery is   17 km away from the southern    side of Macka District in Trabzon City. The monastery is located on a cavity in the middle of a vertical slope. This cavity being about 200 m above the valley was processed by humanbeing and formed into a terrace and several structures were added. The Monastery was said to be established by two monks who came from Athens in 385 AC.

CAPPADOCIA

The first information about Cappadocia, being an interesting valley and attractive region where the natural beauty combines with historical beauty, was collected from the cuneiform scripts found during excavations made in Kultepe. Cappadocia  is the most important place where St Paul selected for the establishment of the first churches during his 30 years' missionary trip.   It is one of the most attractive places in Turkey with its natural beauties, many churches carved in the rocks and the wall pictures decorating them.
